Why am I writing this blog.

I really love food! It doesn't matter what cuisine it is; let it be Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Italian, Indian or anything else I simply love it all. As the saying goes, “variety is the spice of life." Although, I have a very hearty appetite, I don't really put on much weight and that's what my friends always complain about.

Since childhood I have been very interested in cooking. Sometimes I would reinvent a very traditional recipe with my own mix of flavours or use my mom's recipes. To find inspiration I would search the internet or watch food shows on TV (this annoyed my sister a lot and it was so much fun).

As I am still studying and working I usually don't get the time to cook as much as I did back in India. Through this blog I will like to share my tricks to make yummy food in no time. As students we don't have the money to spend on dining out at fancy restaurants, and nor do we want to spend on expensive cooking ingredients. This is why I will be sharing my cheap alternatives with everyone.

If you want to ask why my blog is called "It's not all about Butter Chicken," I would have to say it’s because I really want to get rid of people's misconceptions about Indian food. Come on guys. We do not always eat curry. Although we do have a variety of curries, it’s not all that we eat. Indian cuisine is much more than just Butter Chicken.

On that note, here is a picture of the Butter Chicken I made a few days ago. If you want to know how I made it, I guess you will have to read my blog.
